IVAN ALBERTO ROJAS TOVAR • In his own words...
“I remember that when I was 7 or 8 years old I had a sketchbook in which I drew every day. I already had interest in drawing, and luckily, my father owned an art supply store/bookstore. I loved looking at the art, design, architectural, and photography books he stocked. Even though I greatly admire painting, for me, I have always preferred the three dimensional perspective. Sculpture is my passion, my joy, and my satisfaction. If I didn’t sculpt my life would be incomplete. When I was in the Xilografia Studio (Wood Engraving Studio), I decided to leave my day job and dedicate myself fully to sculpture. I began working as an assistant to a professor of sculpture (who remains my friend to this day), and who taught me the techniques I would one day master. This is now my life.”
